Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Crusaders vs. Webster Groves Statesmen

St. Dominic proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Webster Groves Statesmen. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Statesmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Chase Spurgeon looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
