Recap: San Carlos Braves vs. Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans
The San Carlos Braves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-43 to Gilbert Classical Academy. San Carlos was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gilbert Classical Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
San Carlos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Leandro Simbolo, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Leshawn Browning who scored nine points along with six assists and six steals. Browning hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games.
San Carlos has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Arete Prep the next time they take the court. San Carlos will host Arete Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while Gilbert Classical Academy will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
