Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson County vs. Marianna

The Jefferson County Tigers will face off against the Marianna Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jefferson County fell victim to Wakulla and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the War Eagles, falling 5-0. The shutout was out of character for the Tigers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Marianna was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 7-1 to Arnold. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Marlins: they've now lost seven in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson County and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Marianna, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1.

Everything went Jefferson County's way against Marianna in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Jefferson County made off with a 6-1 victory. In that contest, Jefferson County amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
