Baseball Recap: Carroll County Triumphs

Carroll County hadn't done well against Owen County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 8-3. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Preston Snow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Snow was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Coy Willhoite was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Bryce Furnish was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Carroll County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Carroll County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Owen County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
