Preview: Halifax Wildcats vs. Midd-West Mustangs
Halifax is 4-0 against Midd-West since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Halifax Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Midd-West Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Halifax is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.
Last Tuesday, Halifax didn't have too much trouble with Dayspring Christian Academy on the road as they won 64-45. Given Halifax's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Dayspring Christian Academy is ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Midd-West had to settle for a 53-51 loss against Mifflin County on Tuesday.
Halifax's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Midd-West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Halifax against Midd-West when the teams last played back in February of 2018 as the squad secured a 76-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Halifax since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
