Basketball Game Preview: Wakeland Wolverines vs. Highland Park Scots

Wakeland has won three straight games at home, while Highland Park has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Wakeland Wolverines will be home for the holidays to greet the Highland Park Scots at 7:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Wakeland will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Newman Smith, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Wakeland came out on top against Newman Smith by a score of 57-46 on Tuesday. While the Wolverines didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, everything went Highland Park's way against Randall on Saturday as Highland Park made off with an 80-60 win. The Scots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Highland Park's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Wakeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Wakeland came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland Park in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, sneaking past 54-52. Will Wakeland repeat their success, or does Highland Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
