Football Recap: Sierra Vista Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sierra Vista). They blew past the Faith Lutheran Crusaders 28-6 on Monday. The Mountain Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Sierra Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amaya Acosta, Alanna Dominguez, and Jam Maica Tautho picked up one apiece. Acosta also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Sierra Vista's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points per game. As for Faith Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Sierra Vista is taking a road trip to take on Somerset Sky Pointe at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Vista's defense has only allowed 9.5 points per game this season, so Somerset Sky Pointe's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Faith Lutheran, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Legacy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.8 points per game this season.
