Volleyball Game Preview: Burncoat Patriots vs. Marlborough Panthers

The Burncoat Patriots will head out to square off against the Marlborough Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Burncoat will be strutting in after a victory while Marlborough will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Burncoat made easy work of Abby Kelley Foster and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Marlborough came up short against Leominster on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 18-25, 25-17.

Marlborough's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Burncoat, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Burncoat took their victory against Marlborough in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
