Basketball Game Preview: Bon Homme Cavaliers vs. Parkston Trojans

Bon Homme is 2-8 against Parkston since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bon Homme Cavaliers will face off against the Parkston Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Bon Homme turned things around against Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Tuesday. They skirted past the Nighthawks 61-58. The Cavaliers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Parkston came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Red Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 65-48. 65 seems to be a good number for the Trojans as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Parkston pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Bon Homme, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Bon Homme couldn't quite finish off Parkston in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 48-45. Can Bon Homme avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
