Baseball Game Preview: De Leon Bearcats vs. Gorman Panthers

De Leon is 8-2 against Gorman since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. De Leon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Gorman will be up against a hot De Leon squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. De Leon came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against Hico.

Brenner Wright was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Trenton Zmeskal was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

De Leon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Gorman came up short against Lipan on Friday, falling 21-1.

De Leon's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Gorman, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

De Leon couldn't quite finish off Gorman in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 9-7. Can De Leon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
