Big Walnut hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.
Big Walnut has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westerville North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Westerville North has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Big Walnut struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
