Softball Recap: Piedra Vista Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Piedra Vista waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Farmington Scorpions 17-11. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Piedra Vista got a massive performance out of TAQUIRA HOOD, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. KAITLYN TAFOYA was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 5-for-6.

Piedra Vista's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Farmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Piedra Vista is set to face off against their familiar foe Volcano Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Farmington will challenge rival Rio Rancho at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
