Volleyball Recap: Americas Falls Despite Big Games from Isabella Ambriz and Sydney Avila

Americas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Legacy Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trail Blazers of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2017.

Americas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sydney Avila, who had 16 digs, and Isabella Ambriz, who had nine digs and two aces. Avila has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Americas now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mansfield Legacy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Americas will head out to square off against Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mansfield Legacy, they will take on Burleson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
