Football Recap: Donnie Hooten's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tom Bean over Alvord + How To Watch

The matchup between Tom Bean and Alvord on Friday hardly resembled the 10-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Tomcats fell 49-42 to the Bulldogs. The loss was the Tomcats' first of the season.

Several Tomcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donnie Hooten, who threw for 432 yards and two TDs while completing 90.2% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Hooten's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 316 passing yards. Brayden Bomar was Hooten's top target, picking up 208 receiving yards and one score.

It was another big night for Zane Fuentes, who rushed for 349 yards and five TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry for Alvord. Thanks to that big game, Fuentes is now up to 15 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Tom Bean fell to 6-1. As for Alvord, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.
