Soccer Game Preview: Christ Church Episcopal vs. Powdersville

The Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers will face off against the Powdersville Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Christ Church Episcopal is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Catawba Ridge on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Copperheads by a score of 1-0. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Powdersville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Southside Christian a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Powdersville pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Christ Church Episcopal was able to grind out a solid victory over Powdersville in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, winning 2-0. Does Christ Church Episcopal have another victory up their sleeve, or will Powdersville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
