Volleyball Recap: Marietta Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marietta can now relate to. They came up short against the Alpharetta Raiders on Saturday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 25-17.

Leading Alpharetta to victory were Susie Dai and Kailey Leonard. Dai had 21 assists, while Leonard had 11 digs and two aces. Dai has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Marietta's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Alpharetta, the victory (which was their 30th in a row) raised their record to 36-1.

Marietta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alpharetta, they will face off against Norcross at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
