The Brush Beetdiggers will venture away from home to take on the Platte Valley Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Brush will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Brush was able to grind out a solid victory over Haxtun, taking the game 12-7.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Krob, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Malachi Thiel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brush kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Haxtun only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, Platte Valley hadn't done well against Eaton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Broncos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Reds.
Hazen Weber made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Weber was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Nick Silvas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Dagan Gomez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Brush's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Platte Valley, their record now sits at 11-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brush has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Brush couldn't quite get it done against Platte Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Beetdiggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
