Bishop McGuinness hadn't done well against Trinity recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Villains breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 37-6. With the Villains ahead 21-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

A big part of Bishop McGuinness' victory came down to the chemistry between Tristan Styers and his top target Henry Kyle. Styers threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns while Kyle picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bishop McGuinness didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut RJ Gist.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop McGuinness and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Trinity, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

As for Trinity, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 48-24 victory against Surry Central on the 19th.
