Volleyball Game Preview: Oakwood Comets vs. Fisher Bunnies

After both having extra time off, the Oakwood Comets and the Fisher Bunnies will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Oakwood turned things around against Schlarman on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0.

Oakwood easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19.

Oakwood can attribute much of their success to Mady Nicoson, who had eight kills, three digs, and two aces, and Kendyl Rogers, who had nine digs and five kills. That's the most kills Nicoson has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hart, who had ten digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fisher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Flanagan-Cornell 2-1.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (55-54) Fisher actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Oakwood's record is now 6-19. As for Fisher, their record now sits at 20-12.

Oakwood couldn't quite get it done against Fisher in their previous meeting on October 1st as they fell 2-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bunnies' Brooklynn Kellems, who had five digs and five aces. Now that the Comets know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
