Recap: Hermantown Hawks vs. Monticello Magic
The Hermantown Hawks's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Monticello with points to spare, taking the game 80-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Monticello lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jackson Soroko, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The game was Soroko's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Shobe, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Hermantown now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Monticello, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hermantown will take on Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to face off against Sauk Rapids-Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sauk Rapids-Rice has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
