Softball Game Preview: Parish Episcopal Panthers vs. Liberty Christian Warriors

For the second straight game, Parish Episcopal will face off against Liberty Christian. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Parish Episcopal fell victim to Liberty Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-0. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Liberty Christian's part, Sydney Griffin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Griffin has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Combest was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Makenzie Byler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Liberty Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Parish Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
