Baseball Recap: Norview Comes Up Short

Norview extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-11 in the process. They came up short against the Ocean Lakes Dolphins, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Pilots couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Ocean Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Ocean Lakes' part, Tre Hamilton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hamilton has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Mitchell Beyers looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Turner Kuhle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Connor Mais was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Norview will square off against Manor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something the Pilots will no doubt try to take advantage of. Ocean Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
