Baseball Recap: Archbishop Mcnicholas Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Archbishop McNicholas nor Anderson made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rockets came out on top against the Raptors by a score of 4-0. That's the first time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-0 win on Saturday.

AJ Gundler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Gundler wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tatem Donels, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Archbishop McNicholas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Archbishop McNicholas beat the Raptors by a score of 4-0 later that day.
