Baseball Recap: Windber Comes Up Short

Windber came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Conemaugh Township Indians, falling 12-2. The Ramblers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lucas Oleksa was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Windber's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Conemaugh Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windber will square off against Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Conemaugh Township, they will face off against Northern Cambria at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Colts a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
