Somerset Academy won against West Broward last Wednesday with 83 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Somerset Academy Panthers blew past the Franklin Academy Panthers 83-18. Somerset Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Somerset Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chandrick Nelson, who posted ten points and eight boards. What's more, Nelson also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Jaden Jimenez was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and five steals.

Somerset Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Somerset Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-11. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-10.
