Basketball Game Preview: Hayden Tigers vs. West Grand Mustangs

The Hayden Tigers will square off against the West Grand Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hayden duked it out with North Park on Friday. Hayden fell 47-37 to North Park. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Hayden's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cameron Morrison, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Morrison is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, West Grand played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 54-20 loss at the hands of Vail Mountain. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Stran Lechman was West Grand's leading scorer, having posted six points.

West Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Hayden, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Hayden strolled past West Grand in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 43-25. Will Hayden repeat their success, or does West Grand have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
