Recap: Idea Academy Titans vs. IDEA North Mission
In what's become a running theme this season, the Idea Academy Titans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 48-20 win over IDEA North Mission. The victory was just what Idea Academy needed coming off of a 59-22 loss in their prior contest.
Layla Perez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 steals. Perez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Juliza Lopez, who scored five points along with seven steals.
Idea Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for IDEA North Mission, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Idea Academy will head out on the road to take on IDEA Pharr at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. IDEA Pharr comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. IDEA North Mission does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
