Preview: West Shore Wildcats vs. Astronaut War Eagles
West Shore and Astronaut are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The pair will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. West Shore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 475th, while Astronaut is ranked 199th).
West Shore suffered their closest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sebastian River by a score of 46-43. West Shore has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Astronaut pushed their score all the way to 64 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 89-64 defeat at the hands of Hagerty. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Astronaut has suffered since December 6, 2023.
West Shore now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Astronaut, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
West Shore was taken down by Astronaut 67-35 in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Can West Shore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
