Baseball Recap: Tolar Gets the Win

Tolar had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Early Longhorns 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rattlers have posted since February 22nd.

Rowdy Tryon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Tolar's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Tolar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talan Culberson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Tolar's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Early, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Tolar will have a chance to go back-to-back against Early: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
