Softball Recap: North Judson-San Pierre's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

North Judson-San Pierre dropped their record down to 7-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 4-0 to the Culver Community Cavaliers. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Molly Madsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Judson-San Pierre saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenya Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Allyson Williams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Culver Community, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

On Culver Community's side, not much got past Aiden Molebash, who gave up just seven hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep North Judson-San Pierre off the board.

On the hitting side, Kalli England was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

North Judson-San Pierre wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Pioneer on the 16th. As for Culver Community, they will square off against South Bend Career Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
