Basketball Game Preview: Chattooga Indians vs. Gordon Lee Trojans

The Chattooga Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Gordon Lee Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chattooga comes in on three and Gordon Lee on five.

Chattooga will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two points last Monday, then bounced right back against Pepperell on Tuesday. Chattooga enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Pepperell. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Dragons are ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Gordon Lee hadn't done well against LaFayette recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Monday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Gordon Lee made off with a 46-45 win over LaFayette.

Chattooga's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Gordon Lee, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Chattooga beat Gordon Lee 50-40 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Will Chattooga repeat their success, or does Gordon Lee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
