Volleyball Recap: Risco Comes Up Short

Risco lost against Gideon two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs.

While Risco was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Gideon's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-21.

Mia Presley paced Risco's offense, picking up seven kills. Presley got some help from Player #18 and her 11 assists. Presley was also a major player on defense: she and Avery Presley shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Risco's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10-2. As for Gideon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season.

Risco didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Cooter on the 13th. As for Gideon, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Bell City on the 10th.
