Baseball Recap: Wilby Takes a Loss

If Wilby was feeling good fresh off their 16-9 takedown of Seymour on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Woodland Regional Hawks on Monday, falling 21-4. The Wildcats have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Wilby's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Woodland Regional, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilby will face off against rival Naugatuck at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Woodland Regional is set to take on their familiar foe Ansonia at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.7, the Chargers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
