Basketball Recap: Shiprock Takes a Loss

If Shiprock was riding high fresh off their 51-27 takedown of Miyamura last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shiprock Chieftains were outmatched by the Gallup Bengals and fell 62-23. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th in New Mexico, while the Bengals are ranked fourth in New Mexico).

Shiprock's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Gallup, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 25-2.

As of now, neither Shiprock nor Gallup have any future games scheduled.
