Soccer Game Preview: Pacifica vs. Troy

The Pacifica Mariners will venture away from home to challenge the Troy Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacifica's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Pacifica fell victim to El Dorado and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Golden Hawks, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Pacifica can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 846th, while El Dorado are ranked 256th).

Meanwhile, Troy didn't have quite enough to beat Yorba Linda on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-2. As for Pacifica, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15-7.

Pacifica beat Troy 3-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mariners since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
