Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. George). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the KIPP Collegiate phoenix 48-16. With the Gryphons ahead 35-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Although KIPP Collegiate took the loss, they still got scores from Christopher Farris and Kevin Garnett.

St. George's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.7 points on average over those games. As for KIPP Collegiate, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, St. George's will be playing in front of their home fans against Northpoint Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Gryphons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for KIPP Collegiate, they will head out to face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The phoenix will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
