Volleyball Recap: Mile High Academy Comes Up Short

Mile High Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Andrews Academy. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Andrews Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Lia Zachawerus paced Mile High Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Zachawerus got some help from Alaina Hickman and her eight assists. Hickman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Mile High Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Andrews Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Coming up, Mile High Academy will welcome Denver Waldorf at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
