Preview: Woodlake Tigers vs. Orange Cove Titans
Having just played yesterday, the Woodlake Tigers will jump right back in to play the Orange Cove Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodlake is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Woodlake had to suffer through a rough 65-36 loss at the hands of Del Oro.
Despite the defeat, Woodlake got a solid performance out of Hugo Cruz, who scored 20 points. Cruz scored a full 55.6% of Woodlake's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Ruiz, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Orange Cove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-35 bruising from Exeter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orange Cove has scored all season.
Woodlake's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for Orange Cove, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Woodlake took a serious blow against Orange Cove in their previous matchup back in January, falling 62-22. Can Woodlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
