Baseball Game Preview: Arlington Catholic Cougars vs. Archbishop Williams Bishops

The Arlington Catholic Cougars will head out to challenge the Archbishop Williams Bishops at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arlington Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Archbishop Williams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Arlington Catholic proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Boston Latin Academy 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 15th.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Williams came up short against Bishop Stang on Monday and fell 8-4.

Arlington Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Archbishop Williams, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Arlington Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Archbishop Williams in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
