Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Restia Whitaker and Aaron Hammann Lead Marriotts Ridge to Victory

Marriotts Ridge won the last time they faced Wilde Lake and things went their way on Monday too. Marriotts Ridge managed a 61-56 win over the Wilde Lake Wildecats.

Marriotts Ridge was led to victory by Aaron Hammann and Restia Whitaker. Hammann went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Whitaker dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Hammann now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Blake Willingham, who posted eight points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Wilde Lake still got an impressive performance from Noah Brazil, who went 10 for 17 to rack up 20 points and six boards. The matchup was Brazil's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Shi Wylie also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Marriotts Ridge's record is now 11-6. As for Wilde Lake, their record now sits at 10-4.

Looking ahead, Marriotts Ridge will challenge Hammond at 5:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Wilde Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-65 victory against Centennial on the 5th.
