Baseball Recap: Sheldon Huskies vs. Pleasant Grove Eagles
Sheldon had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-12 to make it eight. They came up short against the Pleasant Grove Eagles, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Monday.
As for Pleasant Grove, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
For Pleasant Grove's part, Maddox Ali looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Ali posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Breydan Boyle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nic Trillo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pleasant Grove beat Sheldon by a score of 8-4 on Friday.
