Softball Recap: Shelby County Comes Up Short

If Shelby County was feeling good fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Randolph County on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boaz Pirates on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on Friday.

Shelby County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Chaisson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Shelby County's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Boaz, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Shelby County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 victory against Briarwood Christian on the 13th. As for Boaz, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Fayetteville on the 11th.
