Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Lions vs. St. Paul's Prep Lions

Heritage Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul's Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

While Lions fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They blew past Dallas Academy 12-4 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul's Prep). They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for St. Paul's Prep as they're now sitting on three straight.

JJ Ramirez was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Lukas DiBenedetto was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

St. Paul's Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Heritage Christian Academy took their win against St. Paul's Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
