Baseball Recap: Seabreeze Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Seabreeze and Wesley Chapel squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Seabreeze had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Sandcrabs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Tommy Hayes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Seabreeze's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Wesley Chapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

While Seabreeze had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
