Softball Recap: Reed's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Reed waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the River Valley Falcons 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaelee Hammes was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Zoe Lopez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Reed hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 11 consecutive contests.

Reed's victory bumped their record up to 8-3-2. As for River Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4.

Coming up, Reed is taking a road trip to face off against Damonte Ranch at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Livingston at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Livingston has averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
