Recap: Morrill Lions vs. Crawford Rams
The Morrill Lions won the last time they faced the Crawford Rams, and things went their way on Saturday too. Morrill came out on top against Crawford by a score of 61-53.
Leading Morrill to victory were Brooklyn Brown and Kinzley Hess. Brown scored 15 points along with four steals, while Hess scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Hess hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brooklin Hess was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the loss, Crawford still got an impressive performance from Britney Klein, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Klein has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sage Dyer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Crawford were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morrill only racked up eight assists.
Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Crawford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Morrill will be playing in front of their home fans against Lingle-Fort Laramie at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lingle-Fort Laramie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morrill in their respective states (Lingle-Fort Laramie is ranked 21st in Wyoming, while Morrill is ranked 128th in Nebraska). As for Crawford, Crawford and Guernsey-Sunrise will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
