Baseball Recap: Menlo School Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Menlo School and King's Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Menlo School fell just short of King's Academy by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for Menlo School in their meetings with King's Academy: they've now lost three in a row.

Menlo School saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Freehill, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Menlo School's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for King's Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Coming up, Menlo School will take on Sacred Heart Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 4, the Gators 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for King's Academy, they will square off against Menlo-Atherton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the M-A BEARS have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
