Baseball Recap: Gamble Montessori Gators vs. Spencer Center
Gamble Montessori had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it eight. They lost 14-4 to Spencer Center. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Spencer Center earlier this season, when they won 18-6.
As for Spencer Center, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For Spencer Center's part, Imani Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Jordan has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
