While Neosho put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Parkview. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Zack Workman made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hudson Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kanten Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Neosho always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkview only posted an OBP of .222.
Neosho is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Parkview, they dropped their record down to 0-25 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Neosho will take on Webb City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parkview, they will face off against Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
