Basketball Recap: Gavin Ward Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Summerville

There's no place like home for James Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 55-49 W over the Summerville Green Wave on Tuesday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 59-52 win the Green Wave walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

James Island got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Ward out in front who posted ten points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Morris, who scored eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

James Island's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Summerville, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

James Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-43 victory against Fort Dorchester on the 17th. As for Summerville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-61 win against Ashley Ridge on the 17th.
